Michelle Browne, LCSW
Michelle Browne, LCSW, grew up in the southside of Oklahoma City. She saw a lot of resilience where she grew up, but also saw a lot of individuals who struggled to make it, so she decided that she wanted to help in some sort of way.
Michelle went to Oklahoma State University for her undergrad program, intending to study pre-law and help families, but saw systemic issues so she got her degree in Sociology. She went on to get her Masters in Social Work at the University of Oklahoma; wanting to help individuals navigate a rigorous system. For several years, she worked as a community based provider at a local nonprofit, helping families navigate difficult systems such as child welfare and social services. She worked her way up to be a supervisor of the nonprofit, training providers to do the same that she had done for several years.
One day, Michelle decided that it was time to take a more therapeutic approach to helping others and pursued her therapist license. She then went onto work at a local PHP/IOP organization that specializes in helping children and families dealing with behavioral problems. After working there, Michelle ended up at Living Hope. She has been here a few months now and is constantly learning more and more about helping individuals deal with complex trauma and how to navigate life in Oklahoma. Michelle is trained in TF-CBT, DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. Michelle one day aspires to be certified in TF-CBT, DBT, and EMDR.
